Pre-Construction Preparation with Fort Tex Metals & Roofing
WHAT TO EXPECT THE DAY OF INSTALLATION
The following steps will help ensure your roofing day goes smoothly. At Fort Tex Metals & Roofing, we work to make your experience stress-free, from preparation to cleanup. Contact us today to schedule your free roof estimate and experience the Fort Tex difference.
1. Prepare for Noise π§
Our roofing crews start early to maximize daylight, and roofing involves a lot of hammering and movement. It can be loud, so plan accordingly by scheduling quiet activities for a different day, or set up a comfortable workspace away from the noise if possible.
2. Move Fragile Items π¦
Vibrations from hammering may shake wall-mounted items or shelves inside your home. To prevent breakage, remove fragile items like pictures, plates, figurines, or decor from walls and shelves.
3. Protect Your Outdoor Area πͺ΄
To avoid any damage from roofing debris, clear your outdoor space of items like patio furniture, grills, potted plants, and garden equipment. Our team will use tarps and other protective measures, but itβs best to remove anything easily moved to keep it safe.
4. Clear the Driveway π
Roofing materials and tools require easy access to your driveway. To keep vehicles safe from falling debris, please park away from the house or in the street the night before installation and while work is in progress. Clearing the driveway also allows our crew to work efficiently.
5. Provide Access to Outlets π
We may need power for tools used during decking repair, ridge work, or vent installation. If possible, ensure an outdoor outlet is accessible or let our project manager know where we can plug in our equipment.
6. Cover or Move Garage Items π€
If your garage ceiling is exposed and you can see the underside of the roof, cover or move valuable items like vehicles, bikes, or lawn equipment. Roofing work can create dust and debris, so itβs best to protect items with tarps or relocate them during the project.
